This superb 100% wool flannel cloth is made by Vitale Barberis Canonico in Italy. The weight is 340gr/m which is great for a Fall-Winter blazer. 

The family-run business, Barberis Canonico, are masters of all wool mill activities including their elaborate dyeing process they have refined since 1663. This flannel fabric is one of their classics, we have always known it and used it for more than ten years at Germain Tailors. It is also loved by many high-end fashion brands around the world. For many years now, the mill has worked very hard on sustainability.

This Double Breasted Flannel Blazer is 30 hours of pure craftsmanship. It is a Half Canvas blazer, completely custom made in Shanghai by our tailors skilled and loving hands, which also produce men’s suits for prestigious fashion houses. 

We like the construction of this Double Breasted Flannel Blazer because the canvas only runs through the chest and lapels. This way it feels more robust and comfortable than a fused jacket but also lighter and less structured than a fully canvassed suit. The blazer will, therefore, have a structure and at the same time an elegant fluidity. The canvas fabric also gives the jacket greater durability compared to a fused construction jacket. 

The Neapolitan Trim fit has high armholes, thin shoulder pads and thin sleeve-head pads which creates a very gentle roped sleeve. The Soft Comfort fit also has thin shoulder pads but it does not have sleeve-head pads. The sleeve head is made with the "spalla camicia" technique (also called "shirt sleeve"), which means the sleeve-head is natural and not roped.

This double-breasted 4 buttoned blazer is unlined and has two patch pockets, which gives a casual look. The blazer also features a generous 9.5cm peak lapel and two back side vents. The soft shoulder is constructed with a thin padding, giving you a natural and elegant look. The chest pocket "Barchetta" is cut with a curve similar to the shape of a boat, which confers harmonious proportions.
